Transfer news LIVE: Arsenal deal agreed, Rogers bid; Kone to Man Utd; Chelsea, Liverpool latest - London Evening Standard

Arsenal are reportedly close to finalising a deal for Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge, with the winger expected to move to the Emirates Stadium. This transfer is anticipated to serve as a replacement for Leandro Trossard, who has moved to Besiktas. The Gunners have also renewed their interest in Julian Alvarez, the Atletico Madrid forward, and are keen on both Morgan Rogers and Bruno Guimaraes. Discussions between Arsenal and Aston Villa regarding Rogers are expected to intensify following the conclusion of the World Cup.

Despite reports indicating Alvarez’s preference for a move to Barcelona, Arsenal continues to monitor his situation. Initial discussions between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid have taken place at the ownership level, with communication lines remaining open. Atletico Madrid, however, is reportedly reluctant to sell Alvarez, and there is a significant difference in the clubs’ valuations for the Argentina international. Barcelona’s current offer for Alvarez is said to be over £100m, with the possibility of increasing it to more than £110m (€130m) plus bonuses after the World Cup.

Arsenal has also explored the possibility of including Sweden striker Viktor Gyokeres as part of a deal for Alvarez. Additionally, the club is showing strong interest in Cardiff City‘s Axel Donczew, a 16-year-old who is the club’s youngest-ever first-team player and could join Arsenal’s academy.

Manchester United and Chelsea pursue midfield reinforcements

Manchester United, having recently acquired Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, are looking to further strengthen their midfield with the signing of Manu Kone. Reports suggest United has contacted the representatives of Hugo Larsson, an Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder. However, securing Larsson may require a substantial offer, as Frankfurt holds a strong negotiating position with the player under contract until 2029.

Chelsea is also reportedly interested in Kone and has initiated contact with Roma regarding a potential move. The Frenchman has drawn attention during the World Cup, and Roma’s interest in Alejandro Garnacho could facilitate negotiations. Chelsea is also preparing a third bid for Pep Chavarria and maintains an interest in Maxence Lacroix. The club is considering loaning out Mamadou Sarr to a Premier League club, though other options are available, and Chelsea has not ruled out retaining him. Xabi Alonso, the Chelsea manager, is expected to hold talks with Sarr to determine his future. Gabriel Slonina, a 22-year-old Chelsea player, is currently training with Strasbourg, with his transfer future uncertain.

Tottenham and Liverpool transfer movements

Tottenham is reportedly planning a bid for Eli Junior Kroupi and is interested in Neco Williams. However, both Cristian Romero and Djed Spence could be departing the club. Nottingham Forest is preparing a £45m bid to sign Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall, after an earlier £38m bid was rejected. Bergvall is reportedly pushing for the move in search of regular first-team minutes.

Liverpool has been linked with Spence and remains interested in Bradley Barcola after Paris Saint-Germain decided to sell him. Liverpool has made fresh contact with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a potential summer move for Barcola. Additionally, Aston Villa has agreed personal terms with Pervis Estupinan, with negotiations continuing with AC Milan to finalise a transfer fee. Ruben Amorim, who recently moved to Italy, is reportedly keen to bring Noussair Mazraoui to AC Milan, having previously worked with him at United. Mazraoui would serve as a replacement for Estupinan, who is expected to sign for Aston Villa as a replacement for Lucas Digne.

Liverpool has also dismissed a new approach for Curtis Jones, with Inter Milan‘s improved bid falling short of their asking price for the midfielder. Arsenal is also reportedly trying to sell Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus, with AC Milan among the leading contenders to sign him.
