Liverpool U21s Pre-Season Fixture

Liverpool U21s are scheduled to travel to Bromley FC for a pre-season friendly as part of their preparations for the 2026-27 campaign. The match will take place at the Copperjax Community Stadium on Wednesday, August 5, with a 7.45pm BST kick-off.

Rob Page’s squad will make the journey south for this fixture. Bromley recently achieved promotion to League One for the first time in their history, having been crowned champions of League Two last season.

Tickets for the friendly are available for supporters. A designated away area has been allocated, offering 574 total tickets. This allocation includes 330 standing tickets, 240 seating tickets, and two wheelchair bays, which also accommodate carers. Ticket prices are set at £18 for adults, £15 for over 65s, and £5 for U21s.

First Team Pre-Season Preparations

Meanwhile, the Liverpool first team’s pre-season schedule could see delays for some players due to their involvement in the World Cup. Manager Andoni Iraola may have to wait longer to work with his complete squad as several players are representing their countries in the tournament.

The club initially had eight representatives at the World Cup. Although Wataru Endo withdrew from the Japan squad due to injury, the group was bolstered by the signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna. Liverpool triggered his $46 million (£35 million) release clause.

There is a possibility that all remaining representatives could advance to the knockout stages of the competition. This would further postpone their return to Liverpool for pre-season preparations. The squad is anticipated to assemble around July 13 to begin preparations for the upcoming campaign.

The new season is set to kick off with a Premier League fixture away at Newcastle United on Sunday, August 23. In recent years, Liverpool has maintained a policy of granting players three weeks’ rest following their involvement in summer international tournaments.

The World Cup group stages are concluding this weekend. Players involved would have missed at least the anticipated opening week of pre-season training. They would typically return in time to join the club’s tour to the United States next month.

However, there is a strong possibility that all eight players still involved could feature in next week’s round of 32. These players include Spain’s Munoz, Brazil’s Alisson Becker, Dutch trio Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo, and Virgil van Dijk, Sweden’s Alexander Isak, Germany’s Florian Wirtz, and Argentina midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

If these players progress, they risk missing the three-match US tour, which is scheduled to begin with a friendly against Sunderland on July 25. Isak is the only Liverpool player facing a genuine threat of group stage elimination, but even a narrow defeat for Sweden against Japan might be enough for them to advance as a third-placed team.

The World Cup round of 16 commences on Saturday, July 4. This makes it highly improbable that any Liverpool players who advance to the later stages will participate in the US tour. Given that several nations with Reds players are expected to reach the last four, Iraola may not have his full new squad available until Liverpool returns from the United States in early August.

Liverpool FC has also launched its new home kit for the 2026/27 season, which is inspired by an iconic adidas strip worn during the club’s 1989/90 title-winning campaign. The club will tour the United States as part of their pre-season preparations for 2026–27, with fixtures against Sunderland, Wrexham, and Leeds United confirmed.

The Reds will open their US schedule against Sunderland at Geodis Park in Nashville on July 25. They will then face Wrexham at New York’s Yankee Stadium on July 29, followed by a match against Leeds United at Soldier Field in Chicago on August 2. Following the US matches, Liverpool will play two home friendlies, against Monaco on August 9 and Como on August 16.
